Job Title: Senior Waiting List Coordinator

About the Role

We are looking to appoint a Senior Waiting List Coordinator to our surgery admissions team. The individuals will actively manage the administrative processes required for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate patient waiting lists in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Ensure that patient’s waiting list information is properly and accurately maintained.
  • Allocate admission dates within the Trust’s waiting time standards and in line with the Trust Patient Access Policy.
  • Provide a full administrative function for the inpatient service.
  • Ensure patients are notified of admission and pre-admission dates within agreed waiting list targets, including RTT targets, Cancer Targets, and Diagnostics targets.
  • Enter all admissions data for surgery into the ORMIS system.
  • Use appropriate booking processes to facilitate the admission of patients, adding, removing, and suspending patients to and from the relevant waiting list where accuracy is essential.
  • Ensure patients found to be unfit for surgery are correctly managed in line with the Trust’s Patient Access Policy.

Requirements

  • Enthusiastic and motivated individuals.
  • Ability to supervise, multi-task, and have excellent telephone manners.
  • Experience in managing waiting lists and a good understanding of the NHS RTT requirements is preferred.
  • Appropriate administration skills will also be considered.
