EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Help us stay one step ahead as our new Senior Proactive Controller!
In this role, you'll play a key part in helping us prevent pollution, flooding, and spills across our wastewater network by making the most of our proactive monitoring systems. Using data from sensors, loggers, and telemetry systems, you'll identify trends, support incident management, and help drive early interventions before issues become bigger problems.
You'll be the go-to expert for our Proactive Controllers, providing technical guidance on complex cases, improving processes, and helping embed best practice across the team. Working closely with operational teams and stakeholders across the business, you'll turn data into insight, shape how we work, and find new opportunities to improve performance, reduce costs, and deliver a better service for our customers and the environment.
If you enjoy solving problems, using data to make decisions, and continuously looking for better ways of working, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
