Job Role: Senior Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller

About the Role

Are you ready to join a team devoted to wastewater modelling, influencing the future of the Water Industry? Embrace this exciting opportunity with our Water Team, offering the option to work in UK or Ireland offices with a flexible hybrid working model.

As a Senior Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller, you will:

  • Shape major projects like flood risk mitigation schemes and infrastructure developments across the globe.
  • Engage in cutting-edge projects focused on pollution abatement and water system enhancements.
  • Foster professional development through diverse responsibilities and collaborative innovation.

In standout capacity, our modelling team integrates seamlessly with wider project groups, ensuring cohesive design solutions. As leaders in Blue-Green Infrastructure and nature-based solutions, we work across sectors with clients such as Severn Trent, Anglian Water, the Environment Agency, and more. Our offerings include Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, business cases, hydraulic modelling, and river catchment solutions.

  • Deliver cutting-edge modelling solutions, including:
    • Building and verifying hydraulic models for complex sewer networks.
    • Developing integrated models focusing on flood survey verification and catchment-wide risk strategies.
  • Drive technical innovation, applying new technologies to solve client challenges while refining proposed scopes.
  • Generate comprehensive documentation, preparing detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings clearly.
  • Support junior team members, mentoring skill development and actively nurturing professional growth.
  • Monitor and ensure quality compliance, checking technical reports and project outputs against modelling specifications.

Requirements

  • Education & Subject Depth
    • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, GIS, Geography, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
    • Formal training in hydraulic modelling (with focus on GIS and data management).
    • Technical proficiency with one or more systems:
      • GIS platforms: ArcGIS or MapInfo.
      • Hydraulic models: Preference for Innovyze ICM or InfoWorks (Asset Management).
  • Experience & Traits
    • Proven work experience within a water consultancy.
    • Strong educational background & commitment to professional development, coupled with an eagerness to learn.
    • Demonstrated self-motivation, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in collaborative and deadline-driven environments.
