Senior Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller

About the Role

At AECOM Water, we tackle ambitious water sector projects, from flood alleviation to pollution reduction. You'll play a crucial role in creating innovative solutions for Sevener Trent, Anglian Water, Northern Ireland Water, and the Environment Agency, among others.

You'll work closely with multi-disciplinary experts to develop advanced hydraulic models, flood risk assessments, and drainage strategies. As an industry leader in Blue-Green infrastructure and nature-based solutions, we guide innovation through research, development, and benchmarking best practices.

Responsibilities

Technical Delivery

  • Build and verify hydraulic models for sewer networks and flood alleviation schemes
  • Develop integrated and catchment-scale models for pollution and flooding prevention
  • Apply new technologies and develop scope and tender proposals for projects

Expertise & Collaboration

  • Advise clients on technical innovation and project scopes
  • Foster knowledge-sharing within teams and across disciplines
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and project managers delivering comprehensive solutions

Knowledge & Quality Assurance

  • Mentor junior team members, guiding their professional growth
  • Check hydraulic models, calculations, and technical reports to ensure accuracy, compliance, and high-quality delivery

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Environmental Science
    • GIS/Geography
    • Civil Engineering
    • Related technical or scientific discipline
  • Experience in hydraulic modelling, GIS, or data analysis (special preference for ArcGIS or MapInfo)
  • Proficiency in hydraulic modelling software (e.g., Innovyze ICM or InfoAsset)
  • Strong background in water consultancy, with hands-on project experience
