About The Role:
The Crowd are working with a global, multidisciplinary creative studio who are looking for a Senior Wayfinding Designer to join their growing team. Working across art, design, culture and the built environment, the studio creates engaging experiences and environments for some of the world’s leading brands and institutions.
You will contribute to the full lifecycle of wayfinding projects, from research, strategy and concept development through to detailed design, artwork and implementation. Working closely with creative, production and project management teams, as well as architects, clients and fabricators, you will create intuitive and engaging wayfinding systems that respond to people, place, brand and the wider built environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead wayfinding projects from brief through to completion, taking ownership of design quality and delivery
- Develop wayfinding strategies, sign families, information hierarchies, graphic systems and environmental graphics
- Undertake circulation planning, user journey analysis and research into users, place and context
- Develop designs through concepts, location plans, elevations, messaging schedules, detailed design and final artwork
- Present design concepts and rationale confidently to clients and key stakeholders
- Collaborate with architects, designers, project managers, manufacturers and fabricators throughout the design process
- Consider accessibility, legibility, scale, materiality and buildability across all schemes
- Review prototypes and samples and support projects through production, installation and completion
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Key Skills/Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in wayfinding, environmental graphic design or a closely related role
- Strong portfolio demonstrating wayfinding or environmental graphic design projects from concept through to implementation
- Excellent graphic design skills, particularly typography, layout, information hierarchy and visual communication
- Strong understanding of how people navigate and experience spaces
- Experience developing signage systems, sign families, iconography, mapping and/or information graphics
- Confident working with architectural plans, elevations and spatial information
- Good understanding of scale, materials, fabrication and the built environment
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
- Strong conceptual and critical thinking skills, with an interest in research-led design and placemaking
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work confidently with clients and collaborators
- Collaborative, proactive and able to take ownership of your work
- Experience with CAD, SketchUp, 3D/spatial design software or digital wayfinding would be advantageous
