Position
Rockefeller Private Office is core to who we are as a firm. The Private Office is comprised of an elite team of experienced professionals – including wealth planners, tax advisors, estate attorneys, and other experts – who work in concert to deliver holistic, personalized wealth planning and family office solutions. This collaborative environment ensures that each client benefits from the collective expertise of the entire Rockefeller team, addressing the full spectrum of wealth management, estate planning, tax strategy, and family governance needs.
The Senior Wealth Planner is an experienced tax and wealth planning professional who advises ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients on all aspects of their financial lives. In this client-facing role, you will serve as the lead wealth planner for a select group of clients with ongoing financial planning needs, acting as their dedicated go-to advisor for comprehensive financial guidance. You will craft and implement bespoke wealth plans covering income tax optimization, cash flow management, estimated tax payments, multi-generational wealth transfer and estate planning, charitable giving, risk management, employee benefits, and overall financial strategy. As part of the Rockefeller Private Office team, you won’t operate in isolation – you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary group of experts (including CPAs, JDs, and CFP® professionals) to ensure our clients receive quality integrated advice. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with some of the country’s most sophisticated families and individuals, leveraging Rockefeller’s legendary legacy and resources to help clients preserve and grow their wealth across generations.
Responsibilities
- Customized Wealth Planning on a Quarterly Cadence: Engage in deep discovery to understand each client’s values, goals, and complex financial situations. Develop and deliver highly customized wealth plans and quarterly client deliverables, including net worth analyses, cash flow projections, income tax projections and planning, and estate & wealth transfer strategies, ensuring advice is aligned with clients’ long-term objectives.
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary financial planning advisor for a select portfolio of 20-25 UHNW clients (generally $25MM+ net worth). Maintain regular, proactive contact – including leading quarterly client meetings – to review plan progress, adjust strategies, and address new planning needs as clients’ lives and goals evolve. Act as the dedicated point of contact for all financial planning matters, including rapid responsiveness to client inquiries.
- Collaborative Advisory Partnership: Partner closely with Rockefeller Private Advisors (financial advisors) to identify client needs and business opportunities. Work together to formulate and present integrated solutions that strengthen and deepen client relationships. Collaborate with internal specialists across the Rockefeller Private Office - you’ll be experienced and strong in a number of areas, and where you aren’t you’ll draw on your team members that include estate attorneys, tax strategists, investment professionals, insurance consultants, and family office service experts.
- Comprehensive Planning & Advice: Design and implement strategies across all areas of wealth planning, such as cash flow and liquidity planning, risk management/insurance strategies, retirement and executive benefit optimization, income and estate tax mitigation, charitable giving plans, asset protection techniques, and intergenerational wealth transfer. Ensure each plan optimizes the preservation and growth of wealth across generations and addresses both personal and business considerations for entrepreneurial clients.
- Client Presentations: Effectively communicate complex financial concepts in a clear, confident, and relatable manner. Present comprehensive wealth plans and recommendations to clients and their families in meetings, ensuring understanding and facilitating informed decision making. Tailor communication to be actionable and aligned with each client’s level of financial sophistication.
- Follow-Through Collaboration: You follow through on the details/take things to fruition for the client working with internal and external partners including portfolio managers, trust services, legal counsel, accountants, and outside tax advisors to coordinate the execution of financial strategies.
- Practice Development: Play an active role in the ongoing growth and innovation of the Rockefeller Private Office. Contribute to the enhancement of wealth planning processes, tools, and service offerings. Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives and help develop best practices that elevate the firm’s planning capabilities. Support marketing and business development efforts by representing the Private Office’s planning expertise in client events, seminars, and thought leadership content.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
