Senior Web Developer, Marketing
At Phrase, we help open the door to global business by providing the world's leading Language Intelligence Platform.
The Phrase Platform combines AI, agentic orchestration, and a headless, API-first architecture in one composable system. Beyond translation, it orchestrates and adapts content to culture, audience, channel, brand voice, and intended outcome in any language, for every audience. It applies the context that makes content perform in every market: quality standards, glossaries, prior translations, and cultural nuance. Every team, in every region, can ship content that is on-brand, on-point, and ready for any audience.
Phrase gives enterprises the intelligence to automate workflows, the freedom to connect their own tools and engines, and the control to govern global content at scale.
With a global team based in our offices, and remote colleagues across Europe, the UK, the US, and the APAC region, Phrase offers an international environment built on collaboration, innovation, and shared purpose.
Phrase.com is moving from WordPress onto a modern stack — Next.js, Storyblok, and Vercel — and this role leads that rebuild before staying on to own it. You'll work directly from existing Figma designs and use AI-assisted development workflows, including Claude Code, as a core part of how you build, shipping at a pace that would normally need a larger team. Once the new site is live, you become the primary technical owner of phrase.com across six languages, working closely with our Senior Web & SEO Manager, who directs SEO strategy and content priorities while you own the engineering. This is a genuine build-and-own role, taking full technical ownership of a live, multi-language marketing site.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Lead the technical build of the new phrase.com site on Next.js, Storyblok, and Vercel, working from the agreed Figma component library and design tokens
- Use AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding workflows, such as Claude Code, as a core part of daily work, not an occasional aid
- Build and document a reusable Storyblok component library so non-developers can assemble new pages without a ticket
- Script and run the content migration from WordPress into Storyblok's content model
- Implement the redirect map, hreflang reconstruction, and staged rollout plan defined by the Senior Web & SEO Manager
- Set up automated accessibility and performance checks, such as axe and Lighthouse, in CI
- Own the live site day to day, covering bug fixes, new landing and campaign pages, content-model changes, and integration updates
- Serve as marketing's primary technical point of contact for the website
- Monitor site health, including performance, uptime, and respond to issues as they arise
- Evolve the component library and codebase as new marketing and localisation needs come up

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What you need:
- Proven senior-level, production experience with React and Next.js, including SSR/SSG and performance optimisation
- Hands-on experience with a headless CMS — Storyblok strongly preferred, though Contentful, Sanity, or similar will be considered
- Real, demonstrable fluency working with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot as a daily workflow — this is a specific hiring bar, not a nice-to-have
- Working knowledge of technical SEO fundamentals — redirects, hreflang, structured data, Core Web Vitals — enough to implement migration requirements accurately, not to set SEO strategy
- Comfortable owning a system end-to-end without a large supporting team
- Experience with Vercel or a comparable modern hosting and deployment platform
- Professional English, written and spoken
- Experience migrating a live, multi-language marketing site to a new platform (desirable)
- WCAG / accessibility implementation experience (desirable)
