Please note that roles based out of SJS or Sunbury will move to Timber Square, Southwark, from Q4 2027.

Role description
- Provides ROC (Remote Operation Centre) leadership according to BP Guide 100499 - Well Site Leader, Drilling, Completions, and Interventions.
- Reviews programs, rig work instructions and procedures with the Well Monitoring Specialist (WMS).
- Defines the parameters to monitor and identifies the hazards/risks for the upcoming operations.
- Verifies that the correct information is being used for calculations with the WMS.
- Performs alert notifications of deviations to trends or limit exceedance as defined in the engineering matrix and in accordance with the Communication Protocol agreed in ROC ToR and WMM.
- Hosts rig onboarding sessions.
- Defines and approves the Well Monitoring and Responsibility Matrix.
- Agrees the ROC ToR for each well program.
- Holds daily check-ins with the ROC Engineers to discuss engineering risks.
- Supervises, mentors and coaches the WMSs and bp staff assigned to the ROC.
- Identifies operational performance improvement opportunities and makes NPT avoidance recommendations based on ROC monitored data.
- Leads ROC calls with the ConneXus team and SMEs.
- Supplies operations updates and risks for upcoming operations.
- Provides recommendations for improved ROC processes and tools.
- Ensures that self-verification activities are completed in line with bp requirements.
- Participates in ROC drills, training and incident investigations.
- When directed, acts as the ROC WSUP delegate for event notification in accordance with the ROC Event Escalation Guidelines.

What you will need to be successful
- Experience of offshore Wells experience.
- In depth understanding of BP well monitoring practice and procedure.
- Up to date well control certification.
- The rotational pattern is typically 21 days on and 21 days off.
- You will work with the ROC East Team in the Sunbury office to monitor wells in the Eastern Hemisphere. As such as part of the job you will be overseeing the ROC East team (5-6 WMS, PPFG, SEKAL, 2 x Engineering desks, Pune operations support team) to remotely monitor our operations. You will frequently interact with our clients (local operations teams) and this is a great opportunity to broaden your experience in different operating environments whilst working on a variety of operations.

Future Location Notice:
This role will start in Sunbury, London. bp has announced a planned office move to Timber Square, London, with all positions currently advertised in Sunbury, including this one, expected to relocate around Q4 2027-Q1 2028. This presents an exciting opportunity for all employees and leaders to come together in one London location. The specific date of the move will be confirmed closer to the time.
