SENIOR WINDOWS / WINTEL SERVER ENGINEER (3RD/4TH LINE)

Derby | £60,000 + Benefits | 5 x Days On-Site | SC Clearance Required

Ready to move beyond BAU support? Join a major enterprise technology environment supporting critical infrastructure and business systems.

Work directly alongside Solution Architects, investigating, scoping and designing infrastructure Wintel and VMware solutions to ensure architectural requests are viable, fit-for-purpose and successfully delivered.

Join a major technology programme supporting a globally recognised engineering and manufacturing environment.

  • Partner with Architects to investigate, scope and validate infrastructure solutions
  • Provide expert 3rd and 4th Line support across enterprise Windows environments
  • Design Windows Server builds and automated deployment solutions in the "Wintel Server Ideal"
  • Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022 and Windows 10/11 expertise
  • Develop PowerShell automation and lead infrastructure improvements
  • Deliver upgrades, migrations and complex technical projects
  • Support hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure environments

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 3rd and 4th Line support across complex Windows environments
  • Design, build and support Windows Server platforms and automated deployments
  • Develop PowerShell automation and administration solutions
  • Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations and project deployments
  • Troubleshoot complex server, application, network and hardware issues
  • Support on-premise and cloud infrastructure across multiple UK projects

Essential Experience

  • Proven 3rd/4th Line Infrastructure Support experience
  • Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022 and Windows 10/11 expertise
  • Active Directory design including multi-domain and multi-forest environments
  • GPO, DFS, DHCP, DNS and networking topologies
  • IIS, application deployment and infrastructure administration
  • VMware ESXi, Hyper-V and hybrid cloud (Azure/AWS)
  • MECM, Intune, Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online
  • PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Current SC Clearance (essential)
