Help shape the future of the IPS workforce across England

Social Finance is an ambitious not-for-profit organisation working in partnership with governments, service providers, the voluntary sector, and the financial community to tackle complex social challenges.

Through IPS Grow, Social Finance supports the expansion and development of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services across England. The programme works across mental health, primary care, and drug and alcohol services and is funded by NHS England, the Department for Work and Pensions, and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities.

They are now recruiting two Senior Workforce Leads to play a key role in the professional development of the IPS workforce.

Working remotely as part of the Workforce team and reporting to the Learning & Development Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of training, onboarding, accredited learning, and professional development programmes for IPS Employment Specialists across England.

This is an opportunity for an experienced learning and development professional with strong IPS knowledge to make a meaningful impact at a national level.

Senior Workforce Lead, the role:

  • Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of the IPS Level 3 qualification
  • Develop and deliver additional accredited and non-accredited learning opportunities
  • Deliver comprehensive training programmes for new IPS Employment Specialists
  • Support the development and delivery of face-to-face and e-learning programmes
  • Provide mentoring and ongoing support to new IPS Employment Specialists during their first year
  • Identify training needs and develop workshops, resources, and learning interventions to address them
  • Monitor learner engagement, progression, and outcomes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Support onboarding activities, ensuring new hires are well prepared to deliver high-fidelity IPS services
  • Work closely with the Learning & Development Manager to evaluate and improve training effectiveness
  • Apply specialist IPS knowledge to ensure learning content reflects current best practice and research
  • Build strong relationships with IPS services, ICB Leads, Regional NHS Leads, and other national stakeholders
  • Ensure training and onboarding activity meets IPS Grow's quality assurance standards
  • Collect and analyse workforce and EDI data and contribute to reporting and evaluation
  • Support IPS services with workforce development and race equity action planning
  • Work collaboratively with Workforce Leads, Regional Leads, and the wider IPS Grow team to deliver a joined-up workforce strategy
  • Share best practice and contribute to national workforce development initiatives

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
