Business Intelligence & Visualisation Lead
Contract: 12-month maternity cover
Location: London / Hybrid Working - 1/2x a month in office
Salary: Up to £60,000 + benefits
I'm currently representing a leading UK organisation that is looking for a Business Intelligence & Visualisation Lead to join its Data & Analytics function on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is a hands-on BI role where you'll take ownership of the organisation's reporting and visualisation capability, working closely with senior stakeholders to deliver accurate, user-friendly insights that support business decision-making.
The Role
You'll be responsible for:
- Designing, developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports
- Building and supporting self-service analytics capabilities
- Writing strong DAX and SQL to develop reporting, views and semantic layers
- Working with Azure Databricks to support BI and reporting workloads
- Maintaining and stabilising existing analytical assets
- Ensuring data quality, accuracy and consistency across reporting
- Working within an Agile / sprint-based environment, managing your own workload against a prioritised roadmap
- Working closely with Business Analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into effective reporting solutions
- Presenting insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Supporting data governance, GDPR compliance and documentation standards
- Exploring opportunities to embed AI-assisted analytics into reporting workflows

About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong professional experience within BI, data analytics or reporting
- Hands-on Power BI development experience
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience working with Azure Databricks
- Experience building views and/or semantic layers to support BI reporting
- Experience translating business requirements into clear reporting solutions
- Experience working in an Agile / sprint-based delivery environment
- Understanding of data governance, data quality and GDPR
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of BI delivery

Desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric
- An interest in using AI tools such as Power BI Copilot or Databricks Genie
- Python experience within Databricks
- Experience using Jira
- Public sector, tourism or destination marketing experience
