Following the acquisition of Consult Hyperion in 2024, the consulting arm of Fime is now Consult Hyperion. Consult Hyperion’s mission is to provide deep technical subject matter expertise in the fields of Payments, Smart Mobility and Digital Identity – aligning with Fime’s existing services.
Today, Consult Hyperion provides technical expertise to clients around the world through its team of more than 100 consultants and contractors.
MISSION
Consult Hyperion has been expanding its Smart Mobility practice globally and we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior/Lead Consultant, based in the UK to grow the business and deliver exceptional consultancy services to our clients.
The Senior/Lead Consultant will advise clients with deep technical expertise in smart mobility and transit technologies, including fare collection systems, payment solutions, and digital identity. They will lead consulting engagements and small teams, support sales and presales activities, and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges within the mobility ecosystem.

ACTIVITIES
- Drive research and innovation within the smart mobility domain, introducing new ideas and establishing best practices in fare collection systems and payment technologies
- Oversee technical delivery, ensuring adherence to standards, governance, and quality frameworks, and managing workstream timelines and budgets with appropriate action plans in case of overrun
- Lead workshops with transit agency staff to educate them on the latest strategies and technologies in Fare Collection Systems
- Draft requirements that serve the transit agency's business and customer needs for the procurement of a new Fare Collection System
- Review test scripts to ensure all edge cases are covered, and analyze testing results to ensure root causes are identified
- Lead onsite testing of the latest Open Loop and/or Closed Loop payment systems for transit agencies
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing strategic technical consultation to clients and building strong cross-departmental relationships
- Lead team meetings with System Integrators, third-party suppliers, and Transit Agency staff
- Develop reports for engineers and presentations that effectively communicate project progress and risks to Transit Agency executives
- Lead and shape full proposals and project estimates, adapting solutions to client needs
- Lead a small team, providing direction, mentoring, and support to colleagues

JOB EXPERIENCE
- 5 to 10 years of experience in technical or consulting roles within payments, smart mobility, or digital identity
- Strong experience within fare collection, transit, or related payment and identity technologies
- Proven track record in leading large technical projects with experience interacting with development teams and executives
- Experience managing small teams or project-focused groups
- Deep experience in formal testing processes
- Experience of regulated sectors and/or public sector
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field
- Deep domain expertise and a strong understanding of trends and regulations to guide complex consulting engagements
- Expertise in driving research and innovation to solve complex problems
- Ability to recognize and develop business opportunities, building strong client relationships
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present documentation and influence decision-making at all levels
- Capability to oversee technical delivery, ensure standards adherence, and manage small teams
- Advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a welcome advantage
