Senior / Lead Golang Engineers — GenAI & Cloud Platform

Location: London

Working pattern: Hybrid — 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH

Salary: £160,000 per annum + pension

Build the next generation of banking technology

We’re looking for an exceptional Senior / Lead Golang Engineer to join a major global bank and play a key role in building highly scalable, resilient technology platforms supporting critical financial services.

This is a senior engineering position for someone who enjoys solving complex distributed-systems problems, setting technical direction and building production-grade software at significant scale.

You’ll work with experienced engineers, architects and technology leaders to design and deliver modern services using Go, cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes and distributed systems. We’re also investing heavily in Generative AI, and experience building AI-enabled applications, LLM integrations or AI infrastructure would be a major advantage.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the design and development of high-performance services and platforms using Golang
  • Take ownership of technically complex projects from architecture through to production
  • Define engineering standards, patterns and best practices across Go services
  • Design highly available, scalable and resilient distributed systems
  • Work closely with architects, product teams and other engineering groups to shape technical strategy
  • Mentor and support other engineers, helping raise engineering standards across the team
  • Build and operate cloud-native applications in a highly regulated financial environment
  • Contribute to our Generative AI strategy, including services and platforms that leverage LLMs and AI capabilities
  • Improve observability, reliability, performance and operational excellence across our platforms
  • Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to engineering-wide initiatives

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
