Senior .NET Developer

Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time

About the Job

Reporting to the Digital Product Lead, we are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Senior Full Stack Developer (.NET / React) to join our Digital team. In this role, you'll join a team working on green field projects and contribute to building secure, scalable, and user-friendly applications that support healthcare professionals and improve patient outcomes. This is a fantastic opportunity to own delivery and influence standards across the full stack, from robust.NET APIs and cloud infrastructure through to polished, performant React interfaces, whilst making a meaningful and noticeable impact to Patients and Primary Eyecare Services alike.

What you’ll be doing

  • Working in an Agile team, guide and assist in the design, development and maintenance of a C#.NET-based greenfield healthcare application.
  • Collaborate with clinical leads and stakeholders to understand ambiguous problems and user needs then translate them into elegant software solutions or designs.
  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following industry and healthcare compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, Data Protection Act, NHS IG).
  • Provide day-to-day technical mentorship of Junior and Mid-level developers.
  • Conduct thoughtful code reviews, testing, and debugging of applications. Where necessary, pair up with more junior members.
  • Design, develop and support integrations with NHS FHIR, e-RS, and third-party APIs.
  • Stay informed about healthcare technology trends and regulatory requirements.

About you

You will bring substantial experience designing, building and supporting scalable cloud-based applications, with deep expertise across both backend and frontend technologies. You'll be comfortable leading technical discussions, influencing architectural decisions and mentoring peers, whilst remaining hands-on in the delivery of high-quality software.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Essential Criteria

  • 5+ years of commercial experience in a full-stack role.
  • Significant hands-on experience designing and delivering cloud-hosted .NET services at scale, including architecture decisions, performance tuning, and production operations.

  • Strong proficiency in React - including hooks, state management (e.g. Redux, Zustand, or React Query), component architecture, and performance optimisation. Candidates with equivalent depth in a comparable framework (e.g. Vue) will be considered.
  • Solid command of TypeScript for type-safe development across the stack.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, RESTful API design, and Git-based distributed version control.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL - query planning, indexing, JSON operators - and pragmatic use of Dapper or equivalent lightweight data-access tooling.
  • A strong testing culture: fast, meaningful unit tests, integration and E2E coverage, and experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions).
  • Proven ability to mentor peers, lead technical discussions, and influence architectural decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in using technology to improve patient care and healthcare outcomes.
  • Commitment to working in ways that support equality and promote diversity.

  • Familiarity with API gateways and message brokers (e.g. Azure API Management, Service Bus).
  • Experience working with healthcare data formats or open standards (e.g. HL7, FHIR, openEHR).
  • Experience working in Agile teams with mature DevOps practices.
  • Grounding in security principles and data privacy in regulated or healthcare environments.
  • Knowledge of observability tooling (e.g. Azure Monitor, Application Insights, OpenTelemetry)
