Job Title: Senior/Principal Town Planner
Location: Sheffield
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a growing and ambitious planning consultancy in the appointment of an experienced Senior or Principal Planner to join their Sheffield team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a planner looking to take genuine ownership of projects, work closely with clients and play an important role in the continued growth of an expanding consultancy.
The successful candidate will work across a varied and high-quality portfolio of projects, including major brownfield regeneration, strategic land, future-focused development, and advanced manufacturing schemes.
The Role
As a Senior/Principal Planner, You Will
- Take ownership of a range of planning projects from inception through to delivery.
- Provide clear, commercially focused, and pragmatic planning advice to clients.
- Manage and progress planning applications and development projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Work closely with colleagues across the business to deliver high-quality planning solutions.
- Contribute to the continued growth and development of the consultancy.
- Support more junior members of the team where appropriate.

About You
We are looking for an experienced planner at Senior or Principal level who is:
- MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership.
- Experienced within a planning consultancy environment.
- Confident managing projects and working directly with clients.
- Commercially minded, pragmatic, and solutions-focused.
- A strong communicator with excellent planning judgment.
- Ambitious and keen to take the next step in their career.
- Comfortable working across a varied portfolio of development projects.
