Senior Data Scientist – International Analytics & Data Science
6-month contract | Inside IR35 | £475 per day | London Hybrid, 2 days in office.
We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Data Scientist to join a high-profile consumer technology and financial services organisation on a 6-month contract.
The business operates at significant scale across financial technology, data and consumer services, helping millions of people make smarter financial decisions through technology and data-led products.
This is a high-autonomy role covering International (UK & Canada) analytics and data science, with responsibility for keeping critical revenue visibility, regulatory reporting and production models running effectively.
You’ll be the senior owner across the function, working closely with senior leadership while partnering with Product, Marketing, Engineering, Business Development, Compliance and Member Support.
The Role
This is an opportunity for a Data Scientist who enjoys being hands-on, taking ownership and making things happen.
You’ll take responsibility for existing BAU analytics and production data science across two international markets, ensuring everything remains reliable, accurate and business-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Analytics
- Monitor international revenue performance across the UK and Canada, investigating anomalies and identifying early indicators of revenue movement.
- Support partner monitoring and escalations, including offer setup, recommender and ranking changes, click-reporting issues and partner performance.
- Monitor email campaigns and performance, investigating anomalies, send failures, re-targeting opportunities and churn drivers.
- Support experimentation and A/B testing, including experiment monitoring, analysis and promotion decisions.
- Maintain data quality by triaging pipeline failures, tracking gaps and partner feed issues.
- Handle data and regulatory requests, including DSAR, RTBF, complaints data and FCA regulatory reporting, often within same-day or next-morning deadlines.
- Represent Analytics in business reviews and cross-functional forums, translating complex technical detail into clear business insight.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Data Science
- Maintain and support the existing suite of production ML models, including scheduled refreshes, retraining and redeployment.
- Monitor model performance and drift, identifying when models require intervention.
- Maintain data quality across model inputs and pipelines, troubleshooting feed and pipeline issues.
- Support partner ranking changes and Canadian credit-model compliance.
- Ensure models, pipelines, reporting and monitoring are fully documented and handed over to the permanent team at the end of the engagement.
What We're Looking For
You’ll be an experienced Data Scientist who can step into an existing environment and take ownership quickly without needing significant hands-on support.
You should have:
- 5+ years’ experience across data science and analytics, including production models and BAU analytics.
- Strong SQL and Python or R skills.
- Experience working with existing codebases and data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience maintaining production ML models, including refresh, retraining, monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of model performance monitoring and data quality.
- The ability to quickly understand and take ownership of established BAU processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A degree or advanced qualification in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or equivalent experience.
- Experience within technology, financial services or a data-intensive environment.

Desirable Experience
- Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI or similar to automate day-to-day data science workflows.
- Familiarity with agentic AI workflows.
- Previous contract or consulting experience working against fixed deadlines.
- Experience working cross-functionally across Product, Marketing, Business Development, Compliance and Customer/Member Support.
Why This Role?
This isn't a role where you'll simply contribute to a larger data science team.
You'll have genuine ownership across international analytics and data science, working autonomously across two markets and directly supporting revenue visibility, regulatory obligations and production ML.
