About the Opportunity
This is a strong move for a Chartered Building Surveyor who wants the variety and backing of a major consultancy with a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
A globally renowned multidisciplinary consultancy are growing their Bristol Building Surveying team and are looking for a Senior Building Surveyor who wants proper client exposure, technical breadth and a visible role within a collaborative local setup. You would be joining the Buildings and Places business, working closely with surveyors, designers, engineers, consultants, and project managers.
The work spans refurbishment, improvement, and modernisation projects across high-profile public and private sector clients, while still offering a strong mix of professional Building Surveying duties.
Alongside delivery, there is scope to manage client relationships, support bids, mentor junior surveyors, and help shape the growth of the Bristol team. For someone looking for progression, profile, and a broader platform, it is a strong opportunity.
Responsibilities of the Role
The role combines project work, professional services, client management, team support, and commercial input. Responsibilities are likely to include:
- Leading refurbishment, improvement, and modernisation projects across varied client portfolios
- Preparing feasibility studies, specifications, estimates, statutory approvals, and technical documentation
- Administering contracts using JCT, NEC, and other standard forms
- Delivering surveys, inspections, schedules, and wider professional Building Surveying advice
- Managing regional schemes and coordinating multiple live projects
- Developing client relationships and contributing to bids and new business opportunities
- Mentoring and line managing junior Building Surveyors, including APC support

About You
This will suit a technically confident Building Surveyor who wants more profile, influence, and room to progress. You will ideally bring:
- A RICS-accredited Building Surveying degree or similar qualification
- Chartered status, or strong post-qualification experience at senior level
- Strong technical knowledge across project-led and professional Building Surveying services
- Confidence managing clients, workloads, programmes, and competing priorities
- Commercial awareness, including bids, profitability, and business development
- Experience producing specifications, feasibility studies, asset reviews, and client requirements
- Good understanding of Health and Safety, statutory compliance, and quality-led delivery
- Exposure to Dilapidations, Party Wall, Fire Risk, or Access Assessments would be useful
- Strong document production skills, with AutoCAD, NBS, or Revit experience an advantage
