Senior Platform Engineer

Location: Glasgow – Hybrid, 3 days per week

Contract: 6 months initially

Client: Leading Consulting Organisation

We’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join a consulting client on an initial 6-month contract, working as part of a team responsible for improving the security, reliability, and automation of large-scale infrastructure platforms.

This is a hands-on engineering role, combining Linux, Python, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, testing, and security remediation. You’ll work across multiple infrastructure and automation codebases, identifying and resolving vulnerabilities while ensuring changes are thoroughly tested and safe to deploy into complex production environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work across infrastructure and automation codebases to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
  • Design, implement, and validate secure, stable, and maintainable code changes.
  • Integrate vendor, open-source, and internally developed technologies into enterprise infrastructure platforms.
  • Develop and maintain automation using Python and related technologies.
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release validation processes.
  • Develop practical test plans and validation procedures for security, infrastructure, and configuration changes.
  • Use lab and pre-production environments to safely test and validate complex technical changes before production deployment.
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, security, and application teams to assess impact and drive remediation through to completion.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, technical planning, and documentation.
  • Contribute to improvements across platform security, reliability, automation, and engineering practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
