SEO Account Director
Reports to: Head of SEO, Direct reports: SEO Manager, SEO Account Executive
Join us at the point where SEO and AI actually merge
There's potential hiding in every search. We built the technology to find it - and now we need someone to lead the teams that unlock it for our biggest ecommerce and retail clients.
We're MediaVision - a multi award-winning agency, and proudly, privately owned. No network to answer to, no watered-down decisions made three timezones away. Just a team that builds what our clients actually need and moves at the speed of a genuinely independent business.
Last year our proprietary Metis platform was named European Search Software of the Year. This year, we were recognised as one of the Best Places to Work. None of that happens by accident - it happens because we hire people who want to do SEO differently, and we give them the tech and the independence to actually do it.
This is a genuinely rare moment to join the industry. AI isn't a bolt-on to SEO anymore - it's rebuilding how the discipline works, and most agencies are still bolting chatbots onto old workflows. We're not.
Metis was built AI-native from day one:
- Metis Trends gives us and our clients real-time consumer demand signals - what people are searching for, how a brand stacks up against competitors, and where the gaps are, before anyone else spots them.
- Metis Accelerate removes the reliance of SEO growth out of the dev backlog. Category page content gets generated, approved and published straight to a client's platform - no tickets, no waiting, no pages left optimised for the top 20 while the rest of the catalogue goes stale.
- Metis Maestro does the same at product level, governing titles, descriptions, metadata and feed data across every SKU - built specifically for the scaling and product-data headaches that big retailers actually lose sleep over.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
For an SEO Account Director, that means your role isn't "wait for tech tickets and manage the fallout." It's leading a team that's proactive, insight-led, and embedded in a client's growth strategy from day one - because the platform does the heavy lifting the old way used to eat your week.
The role
You'll lead several of our largest ecommerce and retail accounts, owning the holistic SEO strategy and delivery while working with our Content and Digital PR teams to deliver integrated search campaigns. You'll manage a team directly (SEO Manager, SEO Account Executive) and provide strategic direction to colleagues in outreach and content, while building the client relationships that turn good delivery into long-term growth.
We're growing our SEO leadership structure to match a growing client base - we're actively building out a Senior Account Director tier above this role, so there's a genuine, near-term path upward for the right person, not just a title.
What you'll be doing
People
- Run regular appraisals and 1:1s, and build annual personal development plans for your team
- Own the accuracy and quality of everything your team produces
- Build a team culture people don't want to leave, and lead successful recruitment campaigns as we grow
Product
- Publish thought leadership - POVs, articles, and commentary that shapes how the industry talks about SEO and AI
- Feed client work and platform data into product innovation, helping shape what Metis does next
- Turn strong results into compelling case studies and award-worthy entries
Delivery
- Take full accountability for campaign delivery and strategic planning across your accounts
- Work with specialist product teams to hit client KPIs
- Use Metis to drive performance - not just report on it, but act on demand signals before competitors do
- Conduct keyword research and social listening to expand organic footprint
- Spot trends and challenges in client accounts early, before they become problems

- Around 6 years' SEO experience, ideally agency-side and within ecommerce or retail

- A knack for building strong relationships fast, internally and externally
To apply
Alongside your CV, we'd like two short answers - no more than 100 words each. We're less interested in polish here and more in how you think, so keep it tight and specific:
- What's one thing about how SEO is changing that you think most agencies are getting wrong?
- What draws you to this role at MediaVision specifically?
If you want to see what "beyond tech tickets" actually looks like in practice - ask us about Accelerate and Maestro at interview. We'll show you.
