About the SEO Team
- 20+ strong SEO team based in London and Cornwall, UK
- We are a close-knit team who work hard but also have a lot of fun
- Although we have a hierarchy, we like to operate in an open and inclusive way
- No idea or question is a bad one - if you want to see change, then be the change, and if you want to make something happen, just say!
- The team is made up of SEO generalists, technical SEO experts, SEO content writers and Digital PR specialists
- We have great collaboration between our main London office and our satellite Cornwall office. Last year we went on a trip to Cornwall together - we surfed, walked and had fun.
- These trips aren’t mandatory, so if they’re not for you that’s ok too!
- We work with clients across automotive, luxury fashion, travel, charity, technology sectors and more!
- The DEI team at Artefact is led by two members of the SEO team - DEI is very important to us

Main Responsibilities
- Set and own the department’s SEO content strategy, standards and ways of working.
- Turn client objectives and search insights into commercially focused content strategies with clear, business-aligned success measures.
- Develop effective content strategies which align with the other SEO disciplines (tech and digital PR) to help our clients exceed their goals.
- Define best practice methodologies, sharing with the wider team and ensuring full integration with all Organic projects, with focus on GEO.
- Challenge briefs and provide clear, evidence-based strategic recommendations.
- Work confidently with senior stakeholders.
- Support existing clients, new opportunities and pitches.
- Champion the agency’s content-planning process and standards.
- Work across several teams as the senior content-strategy specialist.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- At least five years’ SEO experience, including two+ years in a management role.
- Proven ability to develop commercially focused SEO content strategies and lead complex projects involving clients, internal teams and third parties.
- Strong knowledge of keyword research, content audits, gap analysis, briefing, production and optimisation, balancing search performance with audience, brand and conversion needs.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using a range of SEO tools to inform decisions, measure performance and demonstrate results.
- Excellent client-management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts and influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing, mentoring and developing team members while building a collaborative, accountable culture.
- Up-to-date knowledge of search developments and Google best practice, with excellent attention to detail and proficiency in Google Workspace.
