About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our dynamic team at phs Group. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all operations adhere to environmental regulations and standards, supporting our commitment to sustainability and legal compliance. You will collaborate closely with various departments to develop, implement, and monitor environmental policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of environmental laws, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in environmental compliance, waste management, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of local, national, and international environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis, report writing, and environmental management software.
- Certification such as NEBOSH, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, or similar credentials is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all company operations comply with current environmental legislation and regulations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor environmental policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
- Prepare and submit environmental reports and documentation to regulatory authorities.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on environmental best practices and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with operational teams to integrate sustainable practices into daily activities.
- Manage waste disposal processes and oversee hazardous materials handling to minimize environmental impact.
- Stay updated on changes in environmental laws and industry standards, advising management accordingly.
- Participate in environmental risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support the organization’s sustainability initiatives and corporate social responsibility programs.
