About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our dynamic team at phs Group. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in environmental compliance, waste management, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of local, national, and international environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis, report writing, and environmental management software.
- Certification such as NEBOSH, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, or similar credentials is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all company operations comply with current environmental legislation and regulations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor environmental policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
- Prepare and submit environmental reports and documentation to regulatory authorities.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on environmental best practices and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with operational teams to integrate sustainable practices into daily activities.
- Manage waste disposal processes and oversee hazardous materials handling to minimize environmental impact.
- Stay updated on changes in environmental laws and industry standards, advising management accordingly.
- Participate in environmental risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support the organization’s sustainability initiatives and corporate social responsibility programs.
