We're looking for an SEO Executive to join our UK eCommerce team on a 12-month FTC. Based from the NEXT Head Office in Leicestershire!

The Role

As an SEO Executive at NEXT, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving organic visibility, traffic, and revenue for our market-leading fashion and ecommerce platform. Organic Search is our largest online channel, and you will take hands-on ownership of SEO and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) strategies for specific key product areas.

Working closely with our online trading teams and backed by a highly skilled wider SEO department, you will act as the internal champion for your categories—helping to shape strategies, fix technical issues, and continuously maximize return on investment.

With support, training, and guidance from the broader marketing team, you’ll have everything you need to grow your expertise and make a visible impact across a FTSE 100 business.

What You’ll Take On

  • Activate SEO & GEO strategies: Deliver end-to-end on-page, off-page, and generative AI optimisation for your dedicated product categories.
  • Identify growth opportunities: Conduct in-depth keyword research, competitor analysis, and site audits to uncover search gaps and maximize visibility.
  • Collaborate across teams: Act as a key point of contact for online trading teams, technical teams, and external agencies to ensure search best practices are consistently met.
  • Monitor and report performance: Track organic search metrics, generate weekly and monthly KPI reports, and keep stakeholders clearly informed of progress.
  • Support technical excellence: Assist with identifying, raising, and resolving technical bugs and support large-scale website developments to keep pages fully search-friendly.
  • Build ethical search authority: Spot link-building opportunities, manage backlink profiles, and keep pace with the latest industry trends—from Core Web Vitals to AI search developments.
  • Champion SEO knowledge: Educate and train internal teams on the value of search best practices and how search impacts their area of the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
