Reactive Recruitment are working with a long standing and reputable digital marketing/design agency who are currently looking for a talented SEO Executive to work from their head office in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

SEO Lead - Package

  • Starting salary of up to/round £28,000 per annum

Overview

Our client current seek a motivated SEO Executive to support our SEO team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their SEO career to build hands-on experience across technical SEO, on-page optimisation and reporting, working under the guidance of our SEO Lead. You'll take day-to-day responsibility for a portfolio of our smaller, lower-priority client accounts, giving you the space to develop your skills while contributing to real client results. As you grow in the role, you'll take on increasing responsibility for developing SEO strategies for your clients, working towards greater ownership over time.

Duties Include

  • Support the SEO Lead in managing a portfolio of lower-priority client accounts
  • Carry out agreed SEO actions for these clients under guidance
  • Help flag opportunities or issues on accounts to the SEO Lead
  • As experience grows, begin contributing to and eventually developing SEO strategies for your own clients
  • Carry out on-page optimisation tasks including title tag updates, URL structure, internal linking and heading structure
  • Support content updates alongside the SEO content writer
  • Assist with basic link building activity where directed
  • Run technical audits using tools like Screaming Frog, SERanking and Google Search Console, under supervision
  • Help identify and log crawl errors, broken links, redirects and structured data issues for review
  • Monitor SEO performance using GA4, GSC and SERanking for your accounts
  • Help track key metrics such as organic traffic, keyword rankings and conversions
  • Support the production of automated client reports
  • Assist in preparing insights for client calls where needed
  • Build knowledge of SEO best practices, algorithm updates and industry trends
  • Develop awareness of AI-driven search and its role within online search
  • Work closely with the SEO Lead, content writer and website team
  • Support the web team with basic tasks during website migrations

Experience Required

  • 1–3 years' experience in SEO (agency experience preferred)
  • Basic understanding of on-page SEO and technical SEO fundamentals
  • Willingness to learn keyword research and content strategy principles
  • Some exposure to Google Analytics and Google Search Console
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, detail-focused approach and eagerness to learn and progress towards greater strategic responsibility

Desirable

  • Familiarity with Screaming Frog, SEMrush or Ahrefs
  • Exposure to CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress, Shopify, DUDA)
  • Interest in AI tools and their impact on search
