Aprender is a small but ambitious education charity working to democratise teacher training globally. As we expand our digital presence, we are looking for a volunteer SEO Manager to help us increase our visibility, reach new partners and supporters, and strengthen our online impact.

What are we looking for?

Essential

  • Experience developing or implementing SEO strategies
  • Understanding of on-page, technical, and content SEO
  • Ability to explain SEO concepts clearly to non-technical team members
  • Experience using SEO tools (e.g. Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar)
  • Ability to work independently and provide practical, actionable recommendations

Desirable

  • Experience working with small organisations, charities, or purpose-driven brands
  • Knowledge of SEO for international or education-related audiences
  • Experience with WordPress or similar CMS platforms
  • Understanding of content strategy and digital storytelling

What will you be doing?

You will work at a strategic and advisory level, supporting our Marketing and Communications Team to ensure our website and content are discoverable, aligned with best practice, and reach the right audiences.

Your role will focus on improving how people find Aprender online — including educators, partners, funders, and supporters.

Key activities may include

  • Conducting an SEO review of the Aprender website and identifying priority improvements
  • Advising on keyword strategy aligned with our mission (e.g. teacher training, school improvement, global education)
  • Recommending improvements to website structure, on-page SEO, and metadata
  • Supporting optimisation of blog posts, programme pages, and impact stories
  • Advising on backlink strategy and opportunities to build domain authority
  • Helping establish simple SEO tracking and reporting processes
  • Providing guidance on how our team can embed SEO best practices into future content
