About the Role

Black Lab is a fast-growing, ambitious digital agency, and this is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding SEO team. Working closely with our SEO Manager, you'll support the delivery of SEO and GEO strategies across a varied portfolio of clients, helping improve their visibility across traditional search engines and AI-driven discovery platforms.

You'll get involved in technical SEO, content optimisation, keyword research and performance reporting, taking ownership of day-to-day tasks while contributing ideas and supporting wider client strategies. We're looking for someone with practical SEO experience who enjoys getting stuck into the work and wants to keep developing their skills as search evolves.

This is a hybrid role based at our office in Otley, with three days per week in the office. Applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance and be able to meet this requirement regularly

What You'll Do

Technical SEO

  • Support the SEO Manager with technical audits, identifying issues that affect crawling, indexing and organic visibility.
  • Use tools such as Screaming Frog and Google Search Console to investigate technical issues and monitor website health.
  • Help prioritise technical recommendations and coordinate fixes with developers.
  • Carry out regular technical checks and support the implementation of technical improvements.

Content & Optimisation

  • Support content optimisation for traditional search and AI-driven discovery, including AI Overviews and generative search platforms.
  • Carry out keyword research, competitor analysis and search intent research to identify new content opportunities.
  • Update and optimise existing content to improve organic performance, relevance and visibility across search platforms.
  • Support the development of content plans, briefs and recommendations for new and existing landing pages.
  • Implement on-page improvements, including metadata, headings, internal linking and page structure.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
