SEO Specialist – Organic & AI Search
Fleet, Hampshire | Hybrid working – up to two days from home
Help ambitious brands get found, chosen and remembered
Search is changing faster than ever. Rankings still matter, but visibility now stretches across Google, AI Overviews, generative search and the platforms people use to research and make decisions.
At MRS Digital, you’ll help clients succeed across all of it. This isn’t a role where you’ll simply work through an SEO checklist. You’ll take ownership of client performance, investigate complex search challenges and turn insight into strategies that produce measurable commercial growth.
You’ll work with household names and ambitious businesses across e-commerce, fashion, automotive, B2B and other competitive sectors. You’ll also have the opportunity to help develop how MRS approaches the future of organic search through P.A.S.S®, our AI SEO framework.
If you’re looking for greater ownership, more interesting SEO challenges and the chance to develop alongside a highly experienced team, this could be your next move.
What you’ll be doing as our SEO Specialist
You’ll manage the day-to-day organic search performance of a varied client portfolio, working closely with our content, digital PR, development, analytics and client service teams.
Your work will include:
- Building SEO strategies around each client’s commercial objectives—not simply rankings and traffic.
- Identifying opportunities across technical SEO, content, authority, user experience and AI search.
- Conducting technical audits, keyword research, competitor analysis and search-intent research.
- Turning complex findings into clear, prioritised recommendations that clients and developers can act on.
- Helping brands improve their visibility within AI-generated answers, search features and evolving generative platforms.
- Using data to understand what is working, forecast future performance and decide what should happen next.
- Reporting on leads, revenue, conversions and meaningful business outcomes.
- Leading confident, useful conversations with clients and becoming a trusted part of their wider marketing team.
- Coordinating activity across technical SEO, content and off-site campaigns.
- QA’ing key deliverables and helping maintain the high standard of work MRS is known for.
- Testing new ideas, tools and approaches—and sharing what you learn with the wider team.
- Contributing to work that we can be proud to enter for industry awards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we’re looking for from our SEO Specialist
You know your way around SEO, but you’re equally interested in where search is heading.
You’ll be analytical, commercially aware and naturally curious. You’ll enjoy investigating why something is happening, explaining it clearly and taking responsibility for doing something about it.
We think you’ll need:
- At least three years’ hands-on SEO experience, ideally within an agency or multi-client environment.
- Evidence that your work has improved organic visibility, leads, conversions or revenue.
- Strong knowledge of technical, on-page, content-led and off-site SEO.
- Experience conducting audits and turning findings into clear, prioritised actions.
- Confidence using tools such as Screaming Frog, Semrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console and GA4.
- An understanding of how AI search, generative results and changing search behaviour are affecting organic strategy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to explain technical subjects to clients without unnecessary jargon.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- A proactive approach and the confidence to challenge an idea when the evidence points somewhere else.
You don’t need to arrive knowing everything. What matters is that you have strong SEO foundations, care about producing excellent work and want to keep getting better.
