Salary: £37,700pa to £40,000pa

What We Do: The Student Recruitment Department plays a key role in the growth and success of GBS by guiding our prospective students from interest to enrolment, ensuring they have the information, support and encouragement they need to take their next step in higher education.

The SEO Specialist & Content Writer will be responsible for developing and executing GBS’s organic search strategy while creating high-quality, engaging and search-optimised content. The role will focus on improving the our online visibility, increasing qualified organic website traffic, generating student enquiries and supporting student recruitment objectives. Combining technical SEO expertise with excellent content writing and analytical skills, the postholder will optimise GBS’s digital presence and ensure content effectively meets the needs and search intent of prospective students.

The successful candidate will work closely with marketing, academic and other internal stakeholders to develop content and SEO initiatives that support undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programme recruitment.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, English, Journalism or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in SEO, digital marketing and content creation.
  • Strong knowledge of technical, on-page and off-page SEO.
  • Experience developing SEO strategies, conducting keyword research, competitor analysis and SEO audits.
  • Excellent copywriting, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs and Screaming Frog.
  • Experience using CMS platforms such as WordPress.
  • Good understanding of Core Web Vitals, website performance, UX and mobile optimisation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, project management and stakeholder management skills.
