Client Facing SEO Strategist
As a client facing SEO strategist at Make Me Local, you own client outcomes end-to-end and act as the single point of truth for your portfolio of up to 25 accounts.
This role combines client leadership, SEO and content strategy ownership, PPC, Social Media, delivery accountability, and commercial control. You are responsible for translating client goals into evidence-led SEO strategies and building rolling 6-month plans aligned to scope and budget.
You will:
- Lead all client communication with authority and clarity
- Set expectations around scope, priorities, and trade-offs
- Own performance and commercial outcomes
- Make confident prioritisation decisions based on impact, effort, risk, and opportunity
- Maintain clear, credible, and commercially grounded client narratives
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Communication
- Act as the main point of contact for all assigned clients
- Lead meetings and strategic conversations
- Respond to all client queries within 1 business day
- Set and manage expectations clearly
- Push back constructively when needed
- Log all activity, communication, and time in Zoho

- Build and own 6-month strategies
- Prioritise across technical, content, and authority work
- Ensure all delivery aligns with agreed strategy
- Act as final decision-maker on in-scope work
Performance & Reporting
- Analyse data using GA4, GSC, SEMrush, Screaming Frog
- Explain performance trends and required actions
- Deliver insight-led, action-focused reporting
Quality Control & Governance
- Perform final QC on outputs before client delivery
- Monitor workload and delivery risks
- Provide clear handovers when required
Commercial Ownership
- Identify upsell and growth opportunities
- Ensure delivery stays within scope and budget
- Maintain accurate account documentation

Requirements
Experience
- 5+ years in digital marketing
- 5+ years specialising in SEO
- Agency experience (preferred)
- Proven experience owning SEO strategy and outcomes
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of GA4, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Screaming Frog
- Ability to translate data into clear strategic decisions
- Confident communicating with non-technical stakeholders
- Strong prioritisation and decision-making ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commercial awareness (scope, budget, ROI, trade-offs)
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts effectively

Performance & KPIs
- Meet client retention and NPS targets
- Deliver 100% of client reviews on time
- Ensure all clients have defined KPIs and strategies
- Maintain full CRM and time-logging compliance
- Conduct monthly client health checks
- Achieve upsell/cross-sell targets
- Maintain debtor days ≤ 30
Growth & Development
- Minimum 4 hours per month dedicated to professional development
- Apply new learnings to client strategies each quarter
- Attend 2 digital marketing conferences per year
- Ongoing coaching, 1:1s, and team collaboration
