Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Dependent on experience
WS Media is looking for an experienced SEO specialist to improve search visibility, attract potential customers and generate measurable enquiries across our growing portfolio of businesses.
You’ll take ownership of our SEO activity, identify where we can improve and put those improvements into practice. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who understands both the technical side of search and how it contributes to business growth.
About WS Media
WS Media is the central marketing function of the WS Holdco Group, supporting businesses including The APC, William Stobart & Son, WS People Providers, Bis Henderson and WS Digital.
We work across the Group on branding, communications, websites and marketing. You’ll join a team supporting businesses with different audiences and commercial priorities, giving you the opportunity to make a visible impact across several brands.
The role
SEO will be your primary focus. You’ll develop and deliver a prioritised plan for each business, working with marketing colleagues and external developers to improve website content, technical performance and conversion.
You’ll also make practical website improvements and support selected Google Ads activity, with priorities agreed around the Group’s commercial objectives.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing and delivering SEO strategies across the Group’s websites.
- Carrying out keyword research and competitor analysis to identify searches that can attract relevant customers.
- Auditing websites, prioritising technical issues and implementing fixes directly or with development support.
- Improving page content, titles, headings, internal links and website structure.
- Working with the marketing team to plan useful content and strengthen key service pages.
- Improving crawlability, indexing, redirects, structured data and website performance.
- Making updates in WordPress and improving landing pages and customer journeys.
- Helping protect organic search performance during website launches, redesigns and migrations.
- Identifying opportunities to earn relevant links and coverage alongside the wider marketing team.
- Setting up, checking and maintaining accurate tracking of enquiries and other key website actions.
- Reporting clearly on organic traffic, search visibility, qualified enquiries and conversion performance.
- Supporting Google Ads campaigns where required, with agreed priorities and budgets.
- Keeping up to date with developments in SEO and AI-powered search.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
