Server Platform Engineer
Location: West Midlands
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £50,000 - £59,000
Our client is a managed services provider delivering cybersecurity, communications, and connectivity solutions across the UK. They are looking for a Server Platform Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
The role
You'll be a technical SME responsible for delivering proactive managed services across private and public cloud infrastructure, keeping client systems secure and running optimally. You'll own 3rd/4th line incidents and problems, and contribute to project delivery for clients and internally.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively monitor client IT estates and maintain solutions through continuous deployment
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, delivering improvements across hybrid, private, and public cloud environments
- Own escalated incidents and problem resolution
- Implement DR and backup strategies
- Take part in the on-call rota
- Liaise with third-party vendors and mentor colleagues

What you'll need
- Strong hypervisor experience (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, HPE VME)
- Solid Microsoft stack knowledge (Windows Server, AD, SQL, networking)
- Strong Azure experience
- PowerShell/Ansible automation skills
- SAN experience (3PAR, Dell Unity, HP MSA)
- Networking experience (Cisco ASAv, Fortigate, Juniper)
- DR technology experience
- SC clearance eligibility (required)
