What you’ll be doing:

As a Server, you will support residents’ health and well-being by assisting with meal preparation and service, ensuring a safe, clean, and pleasant dining experience every day. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

What makes you a great fit?
- Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving, and cleaning tables
- Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef
- Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department
- Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures
- Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures, and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour ready
- Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness
- Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act

What you need to know:
- Must have the Smart Serve designation OR Serve It Right (SIRS) designation (for Saskatchewan locations) and one year experience in dining room service
- Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
- Safe Food Handling Certification preferred
- Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process an asset
- Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills required
- You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
- You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check
