234 rooms | 16,000 sq. ft. meeting/event space

Amenities: contemporary rooms, rooftop pool, five signature dining venues, vibrant communal spaces.

A restored Art Deco hotel just steps from the New Orleans French Quarter, The Barnett offers an authentic New Orleans experience with curated events, live music, and standout food and beverage. Its versatile meeting and event spaces, combined with proximity to the Caesars Superdome, create an engaging environment for hospitality professionals serving both business and leisure travelers.

Housed in a historic 19th century Creole townhome built in 1832, Seaworthy showcases wild-caught, sustainably harvested oysters from American waters—including the Gulf Coast, East Coast, and West Coast—alongside locally sourced fish and game. Part of The Barnett Hotel, we are looking for a full-time server for the Seaworthy team.

The Restaurant Server

The Restaurant Server is responsible for identifying the needs of guests and accommodating to those needs. Serve the guests quickly and efficiently with complete knowledge of the restaurant menu. Maintain station in a clean and orderly manner throughout the shift.

CORE FOCUS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualified candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Warmly greet and acknowledge guests upon arrival.
  • Follow established Hotel service sequence for consistent food & beverage guest experiences.
  • Handle payment for guests purchases in compliance with Hotel & PCI and cash handling procedures.
  • Properly ring guest orders through the POS system (Micros)
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Work with a spirit of teamwork. Communicate needs and ideas to management.
  • Maintain current and accurate knowledge of the outlet menu.
  • Follows all safety and sanitation policies.
  • Upsell items to guests.
  • Properly check all guests’ identification to ensure legal age compliance.
  • Perform side work as needed.
  • Keep server station clean and organized.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in verbal and written English with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Prioritize and organize work assignments, have timely follow up and execution.
  • Have superb time management skills.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.
  • Other language, mathematical, and reasoning abilities as outlined below.
  • Ability to comply with physical demands as outlined below.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Atelier & Ace Culture & initiatives
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • If applicable, must meet any required minimum age to serve alcohol.
  • Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma required, any college courses in hospitality management or similar is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience working as a server in a similar-sized restaurant.
  • Additional restaurant experience (host, food runner, bus person, etc.) preferred.
  • Additional certifications (ServSafe, TiPS, etc.) preferred.

LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL, and REASONING ABILITIES

Candidate must meet the following cognitive abilities:

  • Ability to understand guests’ service needs & requests.
  • Ability to acknowledge guests’ requests in a polite manner.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written English (additional foreign languages are encouraged and preferred).
  • Ability to apply logical thinking and understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to address and solve problems involving guest and operational issues.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical restaurant environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Sit, walk, and stand continuously.
  • Lift / carry 25lbs (frequently) and 50lbs (occasionally)
  • Bend, squat, crawl, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Use dominate hand coordination for simple grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, dampness, height, and moving machinery.
