We are Hiring: Service Accountant – Adult Social Care
Location: Hackney, London (Hybrid)
Contract: Interim | Inside IR35
Rate: £208.52 per day (Pre-AWR)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Service Accountant to support the Adult Social Care Finance team. You will partner with service managers to provide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, and strategic financial advice, ensuring effective management of Adult Social Care budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with budget holders and senior managers, providing financial advice and support.
- Lead annual budget setting, monthly forecasting, and budget monitoring.
- Develop financial models to support demand and cost planning.
- Manage year-end closedown and statutory financial reporting.
- Oversee grant funding, reconciliations, and financial controls.
- Produce financial reports, variance analysis, and management information.
- Support service transformation, savings initiatives, and value-for-money reviews.
- Prepare reports for senior leadership and governance committees.

Essential Requirements
- Experience in Local Authority/Public Sector Finance, ideally within Adult Social Care.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and management accounting.
- Experience with year-end closedown and statutory reporting.
- Good understanding of CIPFA regulations and Local Government finance.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial systems skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering abilities.

Qualifications
- Fully qualified or finalist CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA, CCAB, or equivalent relevant finance qualification/experience.
