Service Advisor
Greenhous DAF Tamworth is looking for a friendly, professional and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our busy service department.
As a Service Advisor, you'll be a key point of contact for our customers, helping to ensure they receive a professional and efficient service from booking through to vehicle collection. You'll work closely with our technicians and wider workshop team to ensure vehicles are progressed efficiently and customers are kept informed throughout.

Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 6.30 pm, every other Saturday, 8.00 am to 12.00 pm, i.e. 45 hours per week, 30 minutes lunch break (unpaid).
Salary: OTE £36,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers and manage service, repair and maintenance bookings professionally and efficiently.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the service and repair process.
- Accurately record customer requirements and prepare job cards for the workshop.
- Liaise with Technicians to ensure jobs are progressed efficiently.
- Provide customers with regular updates on vehicle progress and any additional work required.
- Explain repair work, recommendations and associated costs clearly and confidently.
- Ensure customer enquiries are handled promptly and professionally.
- Prepare estimates and obtain customer authorisation for additional work where required.
- Process invoices, payments and service documentation accurately.
- Coordinate vehicle collections and handovers, ensuring customers receive an excellent experience.
- Support with workshop control to help ensure the efficient flow and progress of jobs through the workshop.
- Monitor job progress and help ensure vehicles are completed within agreed timescales.
- Build strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all relevant systems are kept up to date.
- Work closely with the Parts, Workshop and wider Service teams to ensure an efficient operation.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties required to support the business.

Ideally, we are looking for:
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar customer-facing role, ideally within the commercial vehicle or automotive industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
- Good understanding of vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair processes.
- Good IT skills and experience using dealership or workshop management systems would be advantageous.
- The ability to work closely with Technicians and workshop teams.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- A proactive and positive approach to problem solving.
- A genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Previous experience supporting workshop operations would be advantageous.
