Service Advisor - Stafford, Staffordshire
Paul Rigby Ltd is seeking a friendly, organised Service Advisor in Stafford, Staffordshire. This role connects customers with the workshop, ensuring vehicles are serviced efficiently and customers receive clear, professional support. It matters because great service keeps customers returning and helps the workshop run smoothly.
Purpose of the Role
As a Service Advisor, you will be the primary point of contact for customers bringing vehicles in for service and repair. You will manage bookings, communicate estimates and progress, and coordinate with technicians to deliver a reliable, customer-focused service.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, record vehicle information and confirm service or repair requirements.
- Schedule bookings and manage the workshop diary to optimise capacity.
- Provide clear estimates and explain recommended work in plain language.
- Keep customers informed of progress and any changes to timeframes or costs.
- Liaise with technicians to prioritise work and obtain accurate job updates.
- Process paperwork, job cards and invoices in line with company procedures.
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve routine issues, escalating when needed.
- Support a safe, tidy workshop environment and comply with health and safety procedures.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, ideally within automotive service or a related retail/service environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication; able to explain technical matters clearly to customers.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple bookings.
- Basic numeracy and experience handling invoicing or payments.
- Comfortable using computerised workshop management systems or CRM tools.
- A customer-first attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience working in an automotive workshop or dealership environment.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance terminology and basic mechanical knowledge.
- Experience with specific workshop management software or manufacturer systems.
Qualifications
- A full UK driving licence is typically expected for this role.
What the Organisation Offers
- Working Pattern: Full-time, Permanent.
- Salary: £30,000 to £33,000 per annum.
