UBDS Group - Service Architect

UBDS Group is seeking a highly experienced Service Architect to work across key government client accounts, taking responsibility for defining, governing and sustaining high-quality, authoritative service models. The role will focus on the design and implementation of Common Service Data Model (CSDM)-aligned service structures, ensuring alignment with Enterprise Architecture (EA) principles and client-specific governance standards.

Working within a federated operating model, the Service Architect will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to establish robust Configuration Management Database (CMDB) practices, service mapping capabilities, and dependency models. The role also emphasises embedding data quality assurance, governance controls and agile delivery practices to ensure service data remains accurate, reliable and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement service models aligned to the Common Service Data Model (CSDM), ensuring consistency and scalability across the organisation.
  • Establish and maintain Configuration Management Database (CMDB) governance frameworks, including policies, standards and controls.
  • Lead service mapping initiatives, defining end-to-end service relationships and dependencies across business and technology layers.
  • Ensure alignment of service models with Enterprise Architecture (EA) standards and strategic roadmaps.
  • Engage effectively with stakeholders across a federated operating model, influencing adoption of service modelling best practice.
  • Define and implement data quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy, completeness and integrity of service and configuration data.
  • Apply governance controls to manage and sustain authoritative data sources within the CMDB and associated systems.
  • Support agile delivery teams by embedding service modelling practices within iterative development cycles.
  • Validate and continuously improve service models through regular reviews, audits and stakeholder feedback.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on service architecture, configuration management and service data governance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
