What's in it for you

The Service Centre Manager leads branch operations, manages staff, and ensures high levels of customer satisfaction, productivity, and commercial performance. The role is responsible for driving service and aftersales growth, maintaining efficient branch operations, and holding full profit and loss responsibility for the location. The postholder must also ensure compliance with company standards, corporate governance, and all relevant regulations.

To cover Glasgow and Carlisle depots. Preferred location: Glasgow.

What you will bring

The Service Centre Manager is responsible to assign and direct all work performed in the assigned branch and to supervise all areas of operation. They will manage staff, foster a positive environment, and ensure customer satisfaction and efficient branch operation within their designated region.

They will have a hands-on approach and will be committed to the expansion and success of the business by implementing strategies that increase productivity and enable After Market sales and Service targets achievement. The Service Centre Manager and their team will be assuming full P&L responsibility for their location of operation.

They will adhere to high ethical standards and comply with all regulations/applicable laws and corporate governance.

  • Network to improve the presence and reputation of Thermo King UK and its value proposition covering all business areas
  • Align efforts of Service, Equipment and Parts Sales to maximize sales and service activities
  • Address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly
  • Grow Service business areas such as Beginning of Life Service (e.g., installation & commissioning), Life-Time services (e.g., spare parts, maintenance), Extended Life services (e.g., upgrades, rebuilds), Telematics and After Market Accessories
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality service levels and execution
  • Develop Strategy plan/s & execute for development in area of responsibility (AOR)
  • Track and realize budgets of turn-over, margins, overheads, contribution for the region in support of the service managers

The tasks and responsibilities for the role include:

  • Ensuring that all quotations are made as per Thermo King UK standards and as per agreed margins
  • Ensuring that all procurement is made in accordance with the ERP system requirements
  • Ensuring that all WIP is kept up to date and as per Thermo King UK standards
  • Ensuring that all overheads are managed and documented as per Thermo King UK standards
  • Develop and maintain branch facilities to support service business
  • Responsible for HSE implementation and enforcement
  • Ensure that technicians receive adequate training and expose them to Group know-how
  • Plan & compile budgets & forecasts for branch related to Service revenues and overheads, supported by the Regional Service Manager
  • Support development of team and devise career pathways. Ensuring that all aspects of human resource management is implemented and managed – leave, sick, leave, social welfare, office facilities, employment contracts, etc.
  • Drive growth in all of the region to include diversification into Thermo King product portfolio align with Thermo King strategic plan.

What you will bring

  • Experience in Business Management an advantage
  • The incumbent will be a seasoned professional with relevant work experience within a similar role/service Industry
  • Strong experience of managing a team
  • Computer literate with focus on: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, company ERP system.
