Night Shift Team Leader
Location: Rainham - Havering
Department: Service
Salary: 31k + 30% shift allowance
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Team Leader to support the night shift operations on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern at our Rainham Service Centre. You will lead by example, driving team performance and operational efficiency while ensuring client commitments, service targets, and high standards of safety, quality, and customer service are consistently achieved.
Working closely with Supervisors and team members, you will help deliver a 7-day turnaround for the operation within the Service Centre, execute daily operational plans, and complete delegated tasks to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the night team to achieve operational and turnaround targets.
- Allocate resources effectively and respond to changing business needs.
- Monitor quality standards and minimise errors and customer complaints.
- Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards across the service centre.
- Support training, coaching, and development of team members.
- Ensure company vehicles and equipment are maintained and reported when defects arise.

What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a team leadership role
- Collaborative & Affiliative approach
- Ability to motivate and engage teams to achieve results
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Good understanding of Health & Safety practices
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- Problem-solving mindset with experience identifying and implementing improvements
- Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office
Desirable
- Experience within service, manufacturing, logistics, operations, or production environments
- Previous team leadership or people management experience.
- SAP knowledge.

- Lead and motivate night shift teams to achieve operational and service targets
- Support the delivery of a 7-day turnaround for all processed through the Service Centre
- Complete delegated tasks from Supervisors and the Service Centre Manager accurately and within agreed timescales
- Build a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture through leading by example
- Execute daily operational plans effectively and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Drive high standards of safety, quality, and customer service across all activities
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and operational efficiency while maintaining service excellence
- Foster a professional, respectful, and collaborative working environment aligned with the company's core values
