We are excited to be recruiting a consultant to join our growing Service team, a position which offers excellent prospects within our award-winning tour operator. The successful candidate will work within our Operations team so experience of travel is desirable but not essential.

THE POSITION

The Service team is an integral part of the customer experience at Original Travel. The main aim is to work together with the Sales team and our clients and suppliers to deliver an exceptional standard of client service at all times. The key skills required to be successful in this role are organisation, attention to detail, communication and the ability to work well with others.

SPECIFICS

The role is varied, and the team is growing and working in different ways to improve the service we offer but the main day-to-day tasks are as follows:

  • Working within the Service team in all elements of the post-booking process from confirmation of the holiday to the client’s return.
  • Main tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Communicating with clients to facilitate their travel requirements
    • Performing quality assurance checks on clients' bookings for Sales Consultants
    • Liaising with suppliers, communicating booking updates, and making confirmations
    • Queuing supplier payments and emailing remittances
    • Making direct bookings of additional client services
    • Creating and sending clients travel documents by email, post and on travel App
    • Becoming experienced with all external and in-house booking systems
    • Attending some meetings from visiting suppliers to learn about the product
    • Taking part in both internal and external training when required
    • Supporting the Operations Team and wider Original Travel Team in other tasks or projects that may serve the clients' travel needs.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • At least two years’ experience in a similar role, ideally at a comparable travel company, but other industry experience will be considered
  • Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written English
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality results in a timely fashion
  • Ability to work well to deadlines and under pressure
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • A personable manner
  • Travel and product knowledge is desirable but not essential

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • The receipt of satisfactory references prior to the start date
  • The completion of an initial three-month probationary period
  • Contractual freedom to commence employment
  • All applicants should be able to accept legal employment in the UK
