The Role

As a Service Consultant, you will sit within the Service Consultancy Team operating as both an internal and external customer-facing specialist. You will provide expertise across QinetiQ’s full-service portfolio, focusing on contributing to Bid and Pre-Bid activities.

Day-to-day, you’ll work collaboratively with customer-facing teams, designing and delivering service integration, support, and management models throughout the full-service lifecycle including engaging with stakeholders, and associated delivery partners to support the development of operationally sound and compliant solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the SME for service lifecycle activities, supporting bids, proposals, and support model development with cost estimates
  • Gathering and assessing customer and business requirements to shape effective service solutions
  • Ensuring all proposed services align with Service and Technical Operations policies, standards, and processes
  • Collaborating with SD&T, Service Operations, and Technical Operations teams throughout the service design process
  • Supporting the development and approval of comprehensive service design packages
  • Enabling successful service transition through effective planning, readiness, and cross-functional coordination

Essential Experience of the Service Consultant:

  • Significant experience in Service Design, Service Architecture, and Service Development across large and complex organisations
  • Previous experience leading or contributing to bid and pre-bid activities, producing high-quality service inputs, support models, and costed responses
  • The ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, customers, partners, and internal teams across multiple organisational levels
  • The ability to produce service artefacts including service models, integration diagrams, service design packages, operational documentation, and high-level plans
  • Previous experience providing operational assurance within service delivery and service management environments across complex programmes
  • Experience applying knowledge of service governance, interface models, organisational design, and cross-functional service dependencies

Essential Qualifications for the Service Consultant:

  • ITIL 4 certification or ITIL certifications beyond foundational level

This role is 37 hours per week based at either our Malvern, Bristol, Farnborough or Boscombe Down site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Travel to customer sites will be required.
