About the Role

The Fraud Prevention Centre (FPC) is a strategic capability within HMRC Security, designed to safeguard customers and the organisation against identity-related fraud and emerging threats. Its mission is built on three interconnected pillars: Protection, Detection, and Response, all underpinned by advanced threat intelligence and customer support. The Centre operates across multiple functional areas, including Proactive Protection, Customer Support & Response, and Strategy & Advisory, to deliver a holistic approach to fraud prevention.

Our team is rapidly growing as we invest in new technologies and capabilities, and we are in search of enthusiastic individuals who can help us in achieving our mission.

Job Description

This role sits within HMRC’s Fraud Prevention Centre (FPC) and contributes to the delivery of Identity Verification & Authentication (IDV&A) controls and fraud prevention activity across HMRC services.

As an IDVA Fraud Prevention & Delivery Manager, you will support the coordination and delivery of fraud interventions, ensuring risks are effectively identified, assessed, and mitigated. You will work with technical, operational, and policy teams to deliver fraud prevention initiatives and projects into live service, contributing to protecting HMRC and its customers.

This role is delivery-focused, requiring strong organisation, analytical capability, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

This role is open to UK Nationals Only.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Experience supporting the delivery of projects or work packages, ideally within a digital, security, or fraud context.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to different audiences.
  • Understanding of fraud prevention principles and identity-related risks.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with digital systems, fraud tools, or operational service environments.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working in fraud, security, or compliance roles.
  • Knowledge of HMRC services, Government Gateway, or identity systems.
  • Exposure to project delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

Additional Security Information

The successful candidate will be required to apply for Developed Vetting (DV) clearance level once in post but must already hold or be willing to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance level before starting the role.

Further Location Information

Please ensure that you only apply for a location that you are willing and able to work from, as we will only make one offer of employment. Any additional notes included in a ‘Further Location Preferences (optional)’ field within the application form, will not be considered. Please be aware that you cannot change your location preference after submitting your application.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
