Applications are invited for the post of OCC Controllers to work in the Manchester and Merseyside Operating Area, based at St Helens Depot.

With over 2000 colleagues spread across six sites, Stagecoach Manchester and Merseyside is one of the country’s biggest bus operators. We are recruiting Service Controllers to join the team, to help us as we expand our business due to the successful award of Liverpool City Region Combined Authority contracts based in St Helens Depot.
Position Details
This is a permanent position that will work under the Operations Manager.
Key Duties
- Ensure that bus services are supervised and controlled using AVL / Greenroad / PTT Radio System to meet the prevailing circumstances.
- Support the Depot Operating and Engineering Managers in maintaining the Health and Safety in the workplace of all staff and visitors. In conjunction with others, to ensure that prescribed security measures are adhered to.
- Monitor and regulate services working with the Roadside controllers, Desk Supervisors and Task Team to ensure efficient and effective working.
- Respond to incidents and disruptions.
- To liaise with the Operations & Engineering Team
- Record mileage variations
- Maintain records.
- Support Driver out in service

About You
- Experience in a fast-paced role (transport desirable)
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills
- Able to work under pressure
- Good IT skills and attention to detail
- Flexible to operate 24 hours per day; seven days per week and must be flexible and willing to change working patterns at short notice
- An understanding of the relevant legislation including Health and Safety, Driving Hours Regulation and Working Time Directive and their practice
- An understanding of Stagecoach Group policies and procedures
