Service Director

A superb opportunity has arisen for a Service Director to drive commercial growth, operational excellence, and team development. This transformational role is for one of the UK’s foremost providers of specialist equipment and integrated support solutions, delivering end-to-end services spanning installation, maintenance, technical expertise, repairs, and fully managed fleet programmes.

As Service Delivery Director, you will hold full accountability for service operations across the UK, combining strategic commercial leadership with operational management. You'll drive revenue growth through innovative service solutions, pricing strategies, and customer-focused initiatives, while ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and exceptional service delivery.

This role offers significant scope to influence business performance, develop talent, and build lasting client relationships within a growing sector.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive service revenue growth
  • Create pricing models, service packages, and value-add propositions
  • Monitor financial performance through KPI analysis and revenue tracking
  • Identify new revenue streams including maintenance programmes and aftersales solutions
  • Oversee multi-site service operations ensuring consistency and quality
  • Manage service scheduling, depot performance, and turnaround efficiency
  • Ensure full compliance with safety, legal, and industry standards
  • Lead operational improvements to reduce costs and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Build, motivate, and develop service teams including managers, technicians, and support staff
  • Establish performance objectives and conduct regular team reviews
  • Resolve escalated customer issues with professionalism and urgency
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key clients, partners, and suppliers
  • Contribute to company-wide planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities
  • Support development of new service products and solutions

Requirements

  • Proven senior leadership experience within automotive, rental, fleet, or related service sectors
  • Strong commercial track record demonstrating revenue and profitability growth
  • Experience managing service centres, technical teams, or multi-site operations
  • Excellent understanding of workshop operations and fleet maintenance processes
  • Strong analytical capability with experience using KPIs and performance metrics
  • Exceptional problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence at all organisational levels and lead teams through change
  • Outstanding communication skills with both technical and commercial audiences
  • Degree in Business, Engineering, Automotive Management, or related field
  • Relevant industry certifications or qualifications are advantageous
