I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About Absolute Hygiene Solutions
A successful workplace depends on hundreds of everyday essentials being taken care of, usually before anyone notices them.

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
That’s where Absolute Hygiene Solutions comes in.
As we approach our 20th year, I’m incredibly proud of the facilities support business we’ve built and excited to be expanding from London and the South East into the Midlands.
We support facilities managers, property teams and business owners with everything from washroom services and infection control to insect control, air care and branded entrance matting.
We also help our clients meet their waste compliance and duty of care responsibilities, providing the correct documentation, reliable service and peace of mind that their workplace waste is being managed responsibly.
Whether you need support with everyday workplace essentials or guidance towards your sustainability targets, backed by our ISO 14001 accreditation, we always start by listening.
Every workplace is different, so we don’t believe in standard packages. We take the time to understand your site, your people and your priorities, then build a solution around what you actually need.
Our job is to take care of the details, giving you one less thing to think about while you focus on running your facilities or your business.
But the bigger picture matters too.
A clean, safe and properly cared for workplace supports wellbeing, reassures employees and visitors, and creates an environment people genuinely want to be in.
That belief also sits behind initiatives such as Hygiene For Him and our partnerships with Prostate Cancer UK. Even something as simple as a message in a washroom can start an important conversation or prompt someone to take action.
For us, facilities support isn’t simply about meeting expected standards. It’s about helping our clients raise them and giving them confidence that their workplace, their responsibilities and the people in it are being properly looked after.
That’s the difference we want AHS to make.
