Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Service Designer to join our team in delivering impactful government projects. The ideal candidate will bring experience working with the Government Digital Service (GDS) and a commitment to improving public services through thoughtful design. You will be responsible for designing efficient, user-centric service solutions that align with governmental standards and practices.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimise public service experiences.
- Apply GDS standards to ensure consistency and quality across all service design projects.
- Conduct user research to inform service design decisions, focusing on user needs and behaviours.
- Develop service blueprints and prototypes, identifying improvement opportunities within current systems.
- Facilitate workshops and design sessions with stakeholders to gather insights and refine concepts.
- Communicate design concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support the implementation of service delivery models that cater to diverse user groups.

- Proven experience as a Service Designer, preferably within a government or public sector setting.
- Strong knowledge of GDS principles and practices in service design.
- Experience in delivering service design projects that improve public sector services.
- Proficiency in user research methodologies and design tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to think strategically about large-scale service ecosystems.
