Service Designer – Telecoms
Location: Berkshire – minimum 1 day per week onsite
Rate: £500 per day outside IR35
Contract: 3 months rolling
Start: ASAP
Initial contract: Until 31st December, with a new contract expected from 1st January
We are currently looking for an experienced Service Designer to join a telecoms environment, working closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, map end-to-end processes, and design effective service solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Telco and Unified Communications experience, who can confidently engage stakeholders and translate complex business needs into practical service improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, challenges, and objectives.
- Capture and document end-to-end business and service processes.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and develop practical service design solutions.
- Present different solution options, clearly outlining the benefits, drawbacks, risks, and considerations of each.
- Work collaboratively across business, technology, and operational teams.
- Translate stakeholder requirements into clear service designs and processes.
- Support the implementation and evolution of services within a telecoms environment.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of emerging AI-enabled service enhancements where appropriate.

Essential Experience
- Proven experience working as a Service Designer or in a similar service/process design role.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with business stakeholders at different levels.
- Previous experience working within a Telecommunications / Telco environment.
- Good knowledge of Unified Communications, ideally with experience of the RingCentral suite of products.
- Strong experience capturing and documenting end-to-end processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to develop and present multiple solutions, clearly explaining the pros, cons, risks, and implications of each option.

Desirable Experience
- Understanding of AI feature enhancements and how these can be incorporated into Service Design.
- Experience supporting the implementation of AI-enabled services or capabilities.
- Awareness of market governance, legislation, and regulatory considerations when introducing new technologies and services.
