Technical Engineer / Service Desk / 1st & 2nd Line
📍 Fareham (Office-Based, 5 Days Per Week)
💰 £30,000 to £38,000 + Benefits
🛡️ Fantastic Route into Cyber Security
Must be eligible for SC Clearance (lived in the UK for the last 5 years as minimum) with the right to work in the UK.
We're recruiting for a growing technology and cyber-focused business looking to hire a Technical Engineer to join its close-knit technical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a 1st/2nd Line Support, Service Desk or MSP background who wants exposure to a much broader technical environment and is interested in developing a career within the cybersecurity sector.
This isn't a highly specialised cyber security role. Instead, you'll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of technologies, supporting both internal and external customers, working on projects, helping deploy new solutions, and learning cyber security tooling along the way.

What You'll Be Doing
- Providing 1st and 2nd Line technical support
- Managing and resolving tickets through a service management platform
- Supporting Windows, Microsoft 365 and endpoint environments
- Setting up, configuring and deploying new solutions
- Assisting with infrastructure and networking tasks
- Supporting security and cyber-related technologies
- Working directly with customers and users to resolve issues
- Getting involved in project delivery and technical improvements
What We're Looking For
- Experience in a Service Desk, Technical Support or 1st/2nd Line Support role
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities
- Experience supporting Microsoft technologies and Windows environments
- MSP experience would be highly advantageous
- A genuine interest in technology and learning new skills
