Service Desk Engineer
Enso Recruitment are delighted to be working with a growing IT services organisation who are continuing to invest in their service desk support team. They are now seeking a Service Desk Engineer to join their collaborative technical support function.
As a Microsoft Gold Partner, our client mainly focus on support within the Microsoft suite of solutions, covering everything from Windows Desktop, M365, Networking and Microsoft cyber security tools such as Defender and Entra ID.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong IT Support experience to gain further develop their career across a wide range of Microsoft technologies while within a supportive team environment.
The Opportunity
You’ll act as the first point of contact for IT support queries, helping users resolve technical issues efficiently while delivering a positive customer experience.
This role is ideal for someone 1-3 years of IT service desk who is looking to build a long-term career within IT support and technical services within a company that invests in their people with structured training and development programs.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide first technical support via phone, email, and ticketing systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve common hardware, software, and networking issues
- Log, manage, and update support tickets accurately
- Escalate more complex issues to senior engineers where required
- Support desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and Microsoft 365 environments
- Assist with user onboarding, account setup, password resets, and permissions
- Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents through SIEM and ticketing systems
- Monitor for attacks, intrusions, and unusual or unauthorised activity across customer environments
- Monitor identity and access management systems, including misuse of permissions by authorised users
- Contribute to security improvement projects and help promote a culture of security awareness across the organisation

About You
- 1+ years experience in a Service Desk, IT Support, or Helpdesk role
- Good understanding of Windows desktop environments, Microsoft 365 and Azure Environments
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
- Exposure to Cyber Security concepts, tools and technologies is desirable. These include Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, MS Defender, Entra ID.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
