Role Description
The Service Desk Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Royal Leamington Spa. This role is responsible for providing first-line technical support to end users, including responding to service desk tickets, phone calls requests. Daily tasks include diagnosing and resolving issues with desktop computers and peripherals, performing basic computer repairs, and guiding users through troubleshooting steps. The technician will install and configure hardware and software, maintain accurate documentation of incidents and resolutions, and escalate complex issues to higher-level support when necessary. Collaboration with other IT team members and clear communication with users are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in supporting and maintaining desktop computers and related hardware.
- Experience providing technical support and help desk support in a professional environment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting common software, hardware, and network issues.
- Hands-on experience with computer repair, including basic diagnostics and component replacement.
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and standard business applications.
- Clear, patient communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in accessible terms.
- Organisational skills for managing multiple tickets, prioritizing tasks, and documenting work accurately.
- Ability to work on-site in Royal Leamington Spa and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation) or equivalent practical experience are beneficial.
