🌼 We’re looking for our next Service Driver at Greener Options.
And I’m not necessarily looking for someone with the perfect CV.
I’m looking for someone solid.
- Someone who turns up when they say they will.
- Who’s good with people.
- Who takes pride in doing a job properly even when nobody is watching.
- And, importantly, someone who’ll tell us when something’s gone wrong rather than hoping nobody notices.
Our drivers are such an important part of Greener Options. They’re the people our customers see week in, week out. They build relationships, spot things we’d never see from the office and, in many ways, become the face of our business.
One of our drivers is retiring at Christmas, so we have a rare opportunity for someone new to join us and learn his routes alongside him before he goes. We also have a driver who has been with us for nearly 14 years, which probably says more about the sort of place we try to be than I can in a job advert.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

It’s physical. It involves sanitary and clinical waste. There are early mornings, plenty of lifting and more stairs than you’ll probably want.
We’re not pretending otherwise.
In fact, before either of us makes a final decision, we'll pay you to come out on the van with one of our drivers for a morning. You can see the job for what it really is.
You might currently work in care, hospitality, a warehouse, on a farm, on a building site or somewhere completely different.
If you're dependable, genuine, comfortable talking to people and looking for somewhere you can settle and become part of a small team, I'd much rather hear from you.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
